Term 3 was special in many ways, especially for these young sport stars.

Tiane
This term I played Netball and was chosen in the State SAPSASA Netball Team. I was the only player from the Riverland, but soon made friends with girls from all over South Australia. I hope to catch up with many of them in the school holidays. Our State team won gold by 4 points, so I have a gold medal that I keep on a hat hanger in my room with my other medallions.

Merinda
In week 4 of term the State SAPSASA Hockey team (including me), went to Melbourne to compete in a National Competition. I played half back and scored a goal.We came 4th out of 6 teams. It was good to come 4th as that was an improvement on last year when we came 6th.

I was also chosen to go to Adelaide for the 12 year old Riverland Relay Team. We will go away in the first week of Term 4. I am looking forward to that.

Kale

Towards the end of this term I went to Waikerie with 30 other students for an Athletics Day. I was in the 800 metres, the 100 metres, the 100 metres relay and the long jump. I won the 800 metres, and I came 3rd in the 100 metres. Our team came 2nd in the relay. I will now go to Adelaide to compete at a State level for the 800 metres and the 100 metre relay. I hope I win, but will feel good about getting that far anyway.
