Principal

This is actually my second experience working at Berri Primary School as I commenced my teaching career here in the Special Class way back in 1980. Since then my teaching career has been extremely varied with time spent on the Yorke Peninsula, Riverland Special School, Renmark Primary School, Winkie Primary School and two stints overseas where my wife and I taught in Yemen, Brunei and Oman.

Prior to this appointment I have spent the last three years at the Riverland District Office where I was responsible for behaviour management in all Riverland primary, secondary and preschools.

An area that has always interested me has been sport. I trained as a Physical Education teacher at Flinders University and since beginning teaching I have been involved in coaching capacity in a wide range of children’s sport, ranging from football, cricket, tennis, athletics, cross country, soccer, softcross and swimming. This term at Berri Primary School I would like to introduce a new initiative to the year 5, 6 and 7 children, which is to train up a team of runners to compete in the City/ Bay Run which will be held in Adelaide on 21 September. It would be great to see a large group of staff, students and parents running together.
