Room 21Welcome to Room 21 for 2008!!
There are lots of exciting opportunities happening in our Year 6/7 room this term. Our main focus for the year is Hawaii. We will be looking at a whole range of topics within this theme including;
Some of these topics will also allow students to compare information about Hawaii to our own culture in Australia, Australian Indigenous cultures, our government structure and how climate change and drought are affecting our country. Physical Education will be a highlight this term as students will be involved in many different aspects of the PE curriculum. So far this year, students have completed their week of swimming lessons and a four week focus on athletic skills for the upcoming SAPSASA Athletics District Day. Room 21 has had the wonderful and exciting opportunity to be learning baseball/softball skills courtesy of two Berri Warriors Baseball team members every second Tuesday. Brad Monaghan and Steven Scott and have been teaching students how to throw catch the ball, run to bases, hit the ball being pitched to them and how to safely slide to a base. Our skills sessions will be finalised with our class being split into 3 teams for a round robin baseball competition to be held on the baseball diamond at Glassey Park in Week 11. Students will be choosing team colours and team names. Parents will be invited to join us a Glassey Park to watch the games. Stay tuned to this page for more exciting information and photo updates!
