Room 2

Welcome to Room 2 where we aim to look after and help each other to learn andhave fn.
We have a very friendly class made up of 12 reception/year 1
students.

This will grow as another 7 children from kindy start school next term.

We have a wonderful SSO working with us for an hour during Literacy times on three days, an Early Years mentor teacher giving support to a small group and library support with borrowing and using the new interactive whiteboard. It is lots of fun!

This year we are again entering the Premier’s Reading Challenge and the Premier’s Be Active Challenge. Supporting this latter initiative are our Junior Primary aerobics sessions which we do twice weekly as well as running laps of the oval, skipping, active games and much more. We believe a healthy body leads to a healthy mind! Healthy eating is also extremely important to allow us to
concentrate and give us the energy we need. Fruit time and brain food are encouraged in our class as well as drinking lots of water. We have our water bottles on our desks.

This term, we are learning about:
  - Ourselves and others including looking at parts of our bodies
  - Our 6C’s and school values
  - Rules and routines
  - Classroom equipment, their uses and safety
  - “Rosie’s Walk” in Accelerated Literacy
  - A study of farms and products we get from them “From Farm to Table”
  - Number, patterns, measurement and data
  - Easter

We hope you enjoy these photos showing examples of our work or us
participating in activities.
