Room 13

Computer Room

Room 13 is an exciting room to learn in as students use computer programs to revise past learning and access new learning.  Classes have scheduled lessons in which Mrs Maria Vithoulkas (Deputy principal) and Mrs Liz Makris assist students in a range of computer learning activities; as well as time to engage in learning through computers with their class teachers.

Basic computer skills, keyboard skills and simple Literacy and Numeracy programs are regularly introduced and revised.

A learning continuum based on the SACSA framework has been developed for all year levels. ICT skills and suggested teaching programs are outlined within this. With Maria Vithoulkas, the junior primary students often use the Kidpix 4, Numbers Up and Words Rock programs. They regularly focus on Phonics Alive Typing to improve their typing skills. Simple activities are also introduced using the internet.

Liz works with the year 3 to 7 students to expand their computer skills and knowledge. Students are using a typing program to improve their typing skills. They have used Power Point, Word and Publisher to publish their work. Students have used Photo Story 3 to create a story through photos about excursions, camps and happenings around the school.
